The 2nd Annual Ryan’s Homerun Event

Hello everyone!

It’s hard to believe an entire year has passed!!! On Labor Day weekend last year, we hosted a running event in Evarts, KY, in memory of a dear friend, Ryan Middleton of Cawood. We plan to do this again this year!!! Last year, we had a total of 44 race participants and volunteers on top of that! As you know, all the money made from the registration fees at the race goes to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN, since that is where Ryan received the bulk of his treatment. We sent a check to them last year for almost $1,000!!!

As spring arrives, we are gearing up for the 2nd annual Ryan’s Homerun 5K and 2-mile walk event on Labor Day Weekend!!! We are trying to get all of our ducks in a row at the moment. Please mark your calendar for Labor Day weekend this year and keep an eye on the website for updates as they come! Let’s see if we can top that $1,000 mark this year!!!!!!!!

This event is being put together to honor the life of Ryan Middleton of Cawood, KY. He was an inspiring young man! Read his story by clicking on the “Ryan’s Story” link on the left. We will be hosting a 2-mile Walk/Run and 5K Race during the Evarts, KY, Labor Day Festival! The festival will be held at Evarts City Hall on Saturday September 4, 2010, at 10:00 AM. The race will begin at the same time and place. If you are interested in participating, you should know that there is a cap of 75 people due to safety issues. We are asking everyone to pre-register if at all possible (Click on Registration link for information). This will help us be better prepared the day of the race. If you do not pre-register, we cannot guarantee you a t-shirt that day or a spot in the race. 

We will post information here about the race as the day gets closer. We will keep a countdown as well as the number of spots left for participants. Check back for updates frequently!
